Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (July 22)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — It was a very active weekend with some showers for the deserts and passing light rain for portions of the LA area.

It could very well be a busy back to work Monday as well.  We have a better chance at storm development today, because we will get a little better heating.  That's going to help create an unstable environment.

You can expect a chance for thunderstorms in the desert.

Furthermore, mid and upper level winds are fairly light so that could increase the duration of a storm creating a flash flooding potential.

There is a flash flood watch in effect this afternoon for our high desert communities.

Temperature wise we will be a little warmer today and better warming for the rest of the week.  The atmosphere should stabilize later Tuesday.

Basin -low 80s

Beaches - low 70s

Valleys - upper 80s to low 90s

Mountains - low 70s

Deserts - low 90s
