Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (July 17)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — We are looking at a general warming trend for the rest of the work week.

High pressure will expand to the west and that is going to bring triple digit heat to the valleys and deserts.

It looks like our monsoonal flow is going to remain out of the area through the end of the week, thus little or no threat of thunderstorms.

Over the weekend, that all changes.  A good fetch of moisture will be drawn up into the Southland, increasing the humidity and the t-storm chances.

Temperatures will be tricky as the moisture that moves into the area (cloud cover) could hinder some of the heating.

At this point, I'm going with a hot weekend forecast.  Even if the thermometer reads a little lower, the high humidity will make it feel uncomfortable.

Basin - low to mid 80s

Beaches - mid 70s

Valleys - mid 90s

Mountains - upper 70s to low 80s

Deserts - upper 90s
