Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (July 10)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — The high pressure that is parked in the Southwest continues to be our big weather maker.

There is a strong shallow inversion, about 600' at the beach. That means there will be some spotty fog out there, but look for another very warm day inland.

The western San Fernando Valley could surpass 103 degrees Tuesday. It will be the warmest day out of our extended forecast. The high pressure could pull up some monsoonal moisture by the end of the week...so that's when we will watch for the possibility of a some lightning and thunder for the mountains or deserts.

Nevertheless with the increase in humidity, even with the temperatures dropping a few degrees for the end of the week, it's going to feel very sticky. By the weekend a cut-off low starts to approach and that will help increase the marine layer and provide relief.

Beaches -low to mid 70s
Basin - low to mid 80s
Valleys - over 100
Deserts - low 100s
Mountains -mid 80s
