Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Feb. 18)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — A strong coastal eddy has helped to kick up a thick cloud deck across the Southland. This marine layer will help to keep temperatures down Tuesday.  They will hover at or slightly below average in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Tuesday night and early Wednesday there will be a transition from this on-shore flow to an off-shore flow. This will translate into some clouds at first, then by the middle and end of Wednesday, the skies will clear.

There is a high wind watch for most of Wednesday. The worst winds will be in the mountains and high desert. Look for a warmer Thursday and Friday with the off-shore flow kicking in, then there will be some cooling as heading into the weekend.

Right now there is no rain in the immediate future, however, the long range forecast does hint at rain by the middle and end of next week.

Basin - mid to upper 60s

Beaches - mid 60s

Valleys - upper 60s to low 70s

Mountains - mid 50s

Deserts - upper  60s low 70s
