STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The next couple of days will be active as two systems push through the area. A cut-off low to the south will move over Baja bringing a continued off-shore flow. Clouds will rotate around the system into the area today, but that's about it.
Temperatures will be similar to Wednesday, slightly above average. Then on Friday a weak system slides through Southern California. This system will take an inside slider track. That means there will be a few degrees of cooling and some clouds, but that's about it. The winds will also kick up as the system moves through. Watch for advisories to pop up in the next 24 hours.
Then, over the weekend, a ridge of high pressure moves into the West Coast. This will bring daytime highs that are way above average — into the 80s through at least Monday, maybe even Tuesday.
While the overnight lows won't be as cold as this week, it will get quite chilly in the overnight hours. This is because the air mass is dry and there's very little wind and clear skies. This is the recipe for radiational cooling.
There is a slight possibility for some showers by Friday.
