Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Aug. 20)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — There is a little relief in store for Valley cities that have been scorching.

It appears a stronger on-shore flow is starting to develop. For Monday, we can expect a little more extensive marine layer...that will bring the downtown temperature down a couple of degrees. However, the big story is that we will finally start pulling away from the century mark around the Southland. In fact there is a weak disturbance that will move through the area by Wednesday that could actually bring our downtown temperature below average.

Watch for some cumulus cloud development Monday as the tropical moisture continues to surge through the area. There isn't much of a worry of thunderstorm activity...but we will see some clouds nevertheless. By the middle of the week expect average temperatures for our inland cities.

Beaches - mid 70s
Basin -mid 80s
Valleys - upper 90s
Deserts - low 100s
Mountains - low 80s
