Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Aug. 16)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Hot weather continues inland Thursday with valley and desert cities still forecasted to hit near the century mark.

We may experience a degree or two of cooling, but with some mid-level moisture moving in, dewpoints will still be high and that means it will still feel sticky and uncomfortable for inland folks.

The beach and the basin aren't too bad.  In  fact the downtown high Thursday should hover near average levels.

By Friday, it looks like we could get enough mid level moisture moving into the area...along with instability to warrant a chance for a thunderstorm or shower.  That chance will be with us through Saturday.

By Monday a trough of low pressure should help to kick the high back to the east and provide some relief for valley cities.

Beaches - mid 70s

Basin -mid 80s

Valleys - upper 90s to low 100s

Deserts - low 100s

Mountains - low 80s
