Biden In California To Fundraise For Dems Facing Tough Reelection
LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden is in California to raise money for two Democrats facing tough re-election contests.
He's expected Friday at a reported $500-a-plate luncheon for Sen. Barbara Boxer in the Orange County community of Laguna Beach.
Boxer is in a tight race with a Republican challenger, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina. A new poll says nearly one in five voters is undecided in that contest.
Biden also is scheduled to appear at a morning event in Oakland for Rep. Jerry McNerney, whose district includes San Francisco suburbs and the San Joaquin Valley.
McNerney is battling attorney David Harmer in a district that's split almost evenly between registered Democrats and Republicans. Harmer has received substantial support from the National Republican Congressional Committee.
