Jimmy Kimmel Named Host Of 64th Annual Emmys
HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel was named Monday as the host of the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards, which will be shown on ABC Sept. 23.
This will be the first time Kimmel has hosted the Primetime Emmy Awards. He has has hosted the American Music Awards and ESPN Awards and will host next month's White House Correspondents Dinner.
The Primetime Emmy Awards were hosted last year by "Glee" star Jane Lynch when the ceremony aired on Fox. The ceremony annually rotates among the four major broadcast networks.
Don Mischer will be the executive producer of the Primetime Emmy Awards for a record 12th time.
"We are thrilled to have been asked to produce the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards," Mischer said. "We love television and look forward to working with the television academy and ABC in creating a show that is fast-paced, humorous, unpredictable and at times irreverent, but clearly celebratory of our incredible industry."
