Jefferson Starship Drummer Killed In Palm Springs Crash
PALM SPRINGS (CBSLA.com) — Jefferson Airplane drummer Joey Covington was killed in a car crash Tuesday, according to the Riverside County Coroner.
Covington, a Palm Springs resident, was driving alone on South Belardo Road when his vehicle crashed into a retaining wall.
The 67-year-old was not wearing his seat belt, according to a Palm Springs police report. He was declared dead at 5:10 p.m.
Authorities say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
