It's Boo Time at Disneyland

No matter what time of day you go to Disneyland during Halloween time, there is something seasonal, festive and fun going on.

The spirit of Halloween Time visits Disneyland Resort starting in mid-September and stays through October 31. Popular attractions are re-done for the season making a Fall visit to Disneyland a must. Space Mountain takes you on a ride through a Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion transforms into Haunted Mansion Holiday with Jack Skellington and "The Nightmare Before Christmas crew." Disney characters are dressed in Halloween costumes - be sure to watch out for all the Disney villains about this time of year. Main Street, U.S.A. is transformed for a Pumpkin Festival - more than 300 pumpkins will be on display and none of them are the same! Families will have a blast at Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland where you will find ranch animals, pumpkin carvers, Halloween décor and activities for youngsters.

The big event is Mickey's Halloween Party, which is a separately ticketed event happening on select Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays in October. Children and adults are welcome to dress up and trick or treat (both candy and healthy treats are offered) all over Disneyland. All the attractions remain open during the party and, as a bonus, all party-goers are welcome to enter Disneyland Park three hours prior to the party to play. Highlights include: "Piratepalooza" at Rancho del Zocalo where you can dance with characters in swashbuckling attire, 11 special character photo locations, Mickey's Costume Cavalcade (performed twice nightly), and the exclusive to Mickey's Halloween Party, "Halloween Screams" fireworks.

Because young families love this event, the party is more crowded early on. If you can last until later in the night, the last 2 hours are much quieter. Don't worry, trick or treating lasts all night.

Remaining dates: October 21, 25, 28 and 31. Tickets prices vary, but annual passholders get a discount. Be warned! Some nights sell out!

At the park, keep your eyes open for limited edition Disney Halloween souvenirs. But if you can't make it to Disneyland this year, stop into your local Disney Store or shop online at The Disney Store to experience their Halloween Boo-tique. There are amazing choices for children and adults that will let you put together a complete Halloween look from head to toe. Costumes start at $29.50.
