Irvine Teacher, Coach Dies During Class

IRVINE (AP) — A Southern California teacher has died in his classroom.

Kent Bentley, who taught English and coached wrestling at Woodbridge High School in Irvine, collapsed during Monday's lunch period.

Irvine Unified School District spokesman Ian Hanigan told the Orange County Register that students walking by the classroom saw Bentley on the ground and a campus staff member tried CPR but was unable to revive the 46-year-old teacher.

School psychologists were brought in to talk to students.

Bentley was married with two daughters.
