Irvine City Council Votes To Ban Pet Sales, Circuses
IRVINE (CBS) — Irvine is working to safeguard pets and animals used for entertainment.
The Irvine City Council voted Tuesday night to ban the retail sales of dogs and cats, as well as rodeos and circuses featuring exotic animals.
The only pet store affected will be allowed to stay in business until its lease expires next year.
The city is also considering a campaign urging residents to spay and neuter their pets.
