IRS Delays Income Tax Filing Deadline To April 17
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Millions of Southland residents are already thinking about filing federal income taxes, but we'll all have more time this year.
The Internal Revenue Service has announced that it will extend the deadline from April 15 to April 17.
April 15 falls on a Sunday this year and the following day is Emancipation Day, which is observed in the District of Columbia.
Taxpayers requesting an extension will have until Oct. 15 to file.
The IRS expects more than 144 million individual tax returns to be filed in 2012.
