Irrigation Official Resigns Over Child Abuse Allegations
EL CENTRO (CBS) — Imperial County Irrigation District Director Anthony Sanchez has stepped down after being arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse.
Sanchez's neighbor shot a disturbing video of him hitting his stepson with a belt after the boy dropped a baseball during a game of catch.
The neighbor then turned the video over to authorities and Sanchez, who had been in office since 2006, was arrested Friday.
Charges have yet to be filed in the case.
