Man arrested for series of Canoga Park, Woodland Hills business vandalisms

Police arrested a 64-year-old man for a vandalism spree of several businesses Saturday and Monday in the westside of the San Fernando Valley, where windows and doors were shattered by objects thrown at them. 

All of the vandalisms occurred within a 2-mile radius and it was announced Tuesday that Edelidio Wallace had been arrested for allegedly committing the vandalisms, as surveillance video captured the same suspect at several of the businesses.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to three vandalism reports around 3 a.m. Saturday, within three blocks of the 20900 block of Victory Boulevard, where the suspect allegedly threw the rocks and cement bricks to glass windows and doors of several vacant buildings before fleeing the area on foot.

According to police, the same suspect vandalized more businesses on Vanowen Street, Topanga Canyon Boulevard, and Sherman Way between 1 and 4 a.m. Monday, using bricks and rocks. 

The rocks recovered  had "Glory," and "Pay-up" written on them, according to police.   

The LAPD Major Crimes Division is investigating whether the series of attacks are hate crime-related based on the three businesses being Jewish-owned. 

Late Monday, investigators released photos of the suspect, who was described as a man 5-feet, 8-inches tall, weighing around 170 pounds who appears to be balding with a gray/white beard.

in the same area on Friday and Sunday to determine if they were related to the others.
