Investigation underway after human skull located near riverbed in Jurupa Valley
An investigation is underway after a human skull was discovered near the Santa Ana Riverbed in Jurupa Valley on Tuesday.
The skull was found at around 11:45 a.m., at which point deputies were dispatched to the area near Limonite Avenue and Ridgeview Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.
"Upon arrival, deputies met with the reporting party in the equestrian area along the river trail and confirmed that the skull was human," the statement said.
Homicide investigators and the Riverside County Coroner's Bureau were called to the scene to assist in the investigation.
No further information was provided.
