Suspect Arrested For Double Homicide After 2 Women Were Found Dead Inside Ojai Home

OJAI (CBSLA) — A suspect is in custody in the murders of two women found dead inside an Ojai home.

Deputies were called to the scene on the 100 block of Valley Ridge Drive just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday about a report of a woman not breathing.

Upon arrival, they located two women -- one aged 59 and the other 82 -- dead inside the residence.

An investigation led authorities to identify 25-year-old Shawn Shirck of Oak View as the suspect.

Just before 6 p.m. Saturday, detectives arrested Shirck in the 600 block of N. Ventura Avenue.

He was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility on two felony counts of murder.

His bail was set at $1 million.

Shirck is expected to appear in court Tuesday.

The relationship of the suspect to the victims was not disclosed pending notification of their next of kin.

The 59-year-old was an Oak View resident. The 82-year-old was identified as a resident of Ellijay, Georgia.
