Interstate 5 Reopens After Fuel Tanker Crashes In Burbank
BURBANK (CBS) — All lanes of Interstate 5 were closed between Sunland Boulevard and Hollywood Way early Thursday morning after a crash involving a fuel tanker.
The tanker, which was carrying 4,800 gallons of gasoline, was involved in a collision with two other vehicles just south of Glenoaks Boulevard at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball said.
Southbound lanes reopened at 3:55 a.m. and northbound lanes – where the accident occurred – were reopened just before 6 a.m.
Firefighters worked overnight to clear fuel that was leaking toward the center divider, Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
