SANTA ANA (AP) — A California inmate already serving a life sentence for assaulting three women in Sacramento County has gotten an additional 25 years to life in prison for an Anaheim cold case rape of a teenager.
Orange County prosecutor Robert Mestman says DNA linked 42-year-old George Eugene Cross to the 1997 rape of a 17-year-old girl in the home of her parents.
He Orange County Register says a Santa Ana judge on Thursday sentenced Cross to 25 years to life with an order that the prison time be served after his 55 years to life sentence for the 2002 assaults in Sacramento County. Cross must also register as a sex offender.
The Anaheim victim, who is now 30, testified that she answered a knock on the door and Cross attacked her.
