Iconic Hollywood Memorabilia To Be Auctioned Off
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — From Marilyn Monroe to Marlon Brando, some personal items from iconic stars of the past are on the auction block.
Some of Hollywood's most famous clothes and accessories will be on display to the public starting Monday before its auctioned off to the highest bidder. One of those items incudes the iconic dress Monroe wore in her final film, "Something's Got to Give."
The dress is worth an estimated $400,000 to $600,000, according to Martin Nolan of Julien's Auctions.
"June '62, Marilyn wore this dress, and keeping in mind when her death was followed in August 1962, all of the newspapers used the photograph of Marilyn in this dress to announce her untimely passing," Nolan said.
The collection includes multiple pieces from Hollywood's golden era – think Greta Garbo and James Dean – to today's celebrities, like Hugh Jackman and Liam Neeson.
But the collection is not limited to clothes and accessories. A variety of motorcycles ridden by Nicolas Cage, Bruce Willis and owned by Marlon Brando will also be available for auction.
The collection will be put on display Monday through Friday at Julien's Auctions Beverly Hills Gallery, 9665 Wilshire Blvd., in Beverly Hills. The Hollywood Legends Auction takes place June 26 and 27.
