Hunt Is On For 3 Teens Accused Of Attacking Janitor At Victorville High School

VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com) – San Bernardino county sheriff's deputies Tuesday searched for three teens accused of attacking a janitor at Victorville High School.

The victim was targeted Monday, Nov. 16 at about 8:30 p.m. at Victor Valley High School at 16500 Mojave Drive. It's not clear if the suspects are students there.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, the janitor was cleaning around the school pool, when three teenagers shot him in the face with paintball rounds and kicked him in the head.

The 66-year-old victim is described as a quiet man, who would not hurt a flea.

"He is really nice. He's very friendly, very outgoing with everybody," student Gustavo Medina said. "I don't see any reason why people would hate him."

"That's harsh. That's pretty low for someone to do that to an old guy," another student said.

Victorville resident Bao Tung questions parenting these days.

"Why are kids these days so destructive? Really? Did you really need to shoot him with a paintball gun? Did you really need to kick him when he was down? That's completely and totally unnecessary. Parents need to take better control of disciplining their kids," Tung said.

Investigators are sifting through security video from the school in hopes of identifying the attackers and arresting them.

The janitor was treated at a hospital and released, according to a district spokesperson.
