Hundreds Flock To Flower District For Mother's Day Bouquets
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Hundreds of people flocked to the Flower District in downtown Los Angeles early Sunday morning to grab that special arrangement to surprise mom.
The National Retail Federation says that people will spend on average $170 this Mother's Day.
But at the California Flower Mall, arrangements and bouquets are available for much less and prices are negotiable, reports CBS2's Cristy Fajardo.
The chief operating officer tells Fajardo that this time of year marks their busiest.
The most popular option are the red roses, which are sold slightly open, as a symbol of strength and courage, according to Fajardo.
