How to get rid of your Christmas tree in these Southern California counties
It's that time of year again — the holidays are winding down with Christmas over and New Year's Eve around the corner. And for many, that means figuring out where and how to get rid of their Christmas tree.
While some cities in Southern California offer curbside pick-up, it's not an option everywhere. It all depends on where you live.
Here's some guidance on disposing of your tree in the following counties:
Los Angeles County
In the city of Los Angeles, curbside collection for recycling trees is offered by the city's LA Sanitation & Environment Department. You can call 800-773-2489 or create a "Bulky Items" ticket by visiting the MYLA311 page on the city's website or by downloading the MYLA311 app. Full instructions on how to fill out the ticket for Christmas tree pick-up can be found here.

San Bernardino County
For two weeks after Christmas, residents in the city of San Bernardino can have their Christmas tree picked up by the waste disposal company Burrtec by simply placing the tree next to their green recycling bin outside. Here is a full list of general waste disposal sites across San Bernardino County.
Riverside County
According to the county's website, most trash haulers will collect Christmas trees left curbside for two weeks after Dec. 25. However, residents can also bring their trees to a Riverside County landfill or several drop-off sites in multiple cities.
