Hot Wheels Collectors Convention Arrives In Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Hot Wheels Collectors Convention has rolled into Los Angeles.
The convention, where Hot Wheels collectors have gathered annually for the past 24 years, will be the place for autograph sessions with Hot Wheels designers, a souvenir car showcase, a charity auction and a custom car auction.
One special guest will be collector Bruce Pascal, owner of the 1:64 scale 1969 pink, rear-loading VW Beach Bomb, which he purchased for $72,000.
The convention is open to the public daily until Sunday. Sunday's Hot Wheels Show and Sale, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is open to the public with a $5 ticket purchase, which also includes one free child's ticket, ages 12 and under.
The convention is at the LAX Marriott, 5855 W. Century Blvd.
