Honolulu Cuts Off Los Angeles As Worst City For Drivers
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Honolulu has surpassed Los Angeles as having the worst traffic in the country.
According to an annual report by INRIX, congestion across the United States eased about 30 percent in 2011, the result of sluggish economic growth. The decline was the steepest since 2008, when congestion fell 34 percent.
Divers in Honolulu wasted an average of 58 hours stuck in traffic last year, compared with 56 hours in Los Angeles.
According to the report, Los Angeles is still home to the worst traffic corridor — the 13-mile stretch of the San Diego Freeway from the Imperial Highway interchange through the Getty Center Drive exit.
Los Angeles had four of the 10 most-congested traffic corridors in the U.S., according to the study.
