Honesty Pays Off For Lakewood Boy

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A Lakewood boy is $600 richer after spotting some cash on the floor at a store and turning it over to the police.

KNX 1070's Jon Baird reports

11-year-old Brendon Bill saw the wad of cash nearly 8 months ago, and with no one claiming it, the money was given back to Brendon.

Brendon's grandfather said he was thrilled about it, but that he didn't go on a big shopping spree.

South Pasadena police chief Joe Payne said although police had to do a little investigating when someone else from the store claimed to have found the money first, ultimately surveillance video ultimately revealed Brendon to be the first to spot the cash.
