Homicide Investigators Name At-Large Suspect Wanted For Killing Highland Man, Shooting His Wife
HIGHLAND (CBSLA.com) — The Highland Police Department on Friday named a suspect wanted in the killing of a Highland man and the shooting of that man's wife on April 16.
Police named Jovan Meeks, 21, a San Bernardino resident, as their suspect. They said Meeks was at-large.
Kirk Savala, 52, and his wife of nearly 30 years, Donna Savala, 50, were shot in the 25900 block of Baseline Avenue about 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
He died after being transferred to a hospital. While seriously wounded, she is expected to survive.
Authorities have obtained an arrest warrant for Meeks with a bail amount of $2 million.
Authorities believe the couple was caught in the middle of an altercation and were innocent bystanders at the time of the shooting.

Investigators are asking for assistance from the public to locate Meeks.
A man with Savala's name on Facebook described himself as "happily married for 28 years. I have 10 grandkids and life is good."
