Homicide Detectives Investigate Shooting Death Of Man In Sylmar
SYLMAR (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives investigated the shooting death of a man in Sylmar on Friday.
Around 11 p.m. on Thursday, officers were sent to the 12700 block of Arroyo and 5th streets for report of a person shot, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Upon their arrival, authorities located a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside of a vehicle.
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
The victim has been described as a Hispanic man believed to be in his 20s.
Officers set up a perimeter in the area of Astoria Street and Foothill Boulevard to search for a suspect who is believed to be armed and dangerous.
The investigation is ongoing as the motive remains unclear. Officers have not clarified if the incident was gang-related.
No other injuries were reported.
