Homicide Detectives: Human Skull Found In Angeles National Forest

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Tuesday investigated the circumstances surrounding the discovery of human bones found in the Angeles National Forest.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, deputies were sent to Glendora Ridge Road near Mile Marker 10.5 shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

"Two hunters in the area discovered a human skull over the side of a cliff at that location," explained Deputy Mike Barraza.

Investigators are continuing to search for additional human remains in the area.

The cause of death and the identity of the victim remains unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
