High Winds Suspected Behind Simi Power Outage
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (AP) — Utility officials say winds may be to blame for a power outage northwest of Los Angeles.
Southern California Edison spokesman Robert Villegas tells the Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/1ebs6ho ) that 5,223 customers lost electricity Wednesday morning. By noon, 362 remained in the dark.
Crews expect to restore power by 11 p.m.
Villegas told the newspaper that there was a downed wire and crews suspect high winds were a factor.
Traffic lights at major intersections were dark and police urged drivers to treat intersections as four-way stops.
