High Winds Move Into The Southland Causing Some Damage
ACTON (CBS) — Powerful winds moved into Southern California Tuesday night, leading to warnings in the mountains and deserts and causing some damage.
Sky9 observed a downed power pole while flying over Lancaster. The wind had toppled at least 50 poles in all according to SoCal Edison. But only a few customers were affected, according to Edison.
High wind warnings were in effect for Antelope Valley and L.A. County mountains through Thursday morning. Wind gusts were expected to reach up to 60 miles per hour.
Signs on the 14 Freeway heading north into Acton warned of high winds. Officials advised people driving high-profile vehicles to use caution.
