Hesperia Man Gets 6-Year Sentence For Shooting Out Car Windows On Various Freeways
SAN BERNARDINO (AP) — A satellite TV installer from San Bernardino County has been sentenced to six years in prison for shooting a BB gun at dozens of vehicles on Southern California freeways.
The Sun of San Bernardino says court records show William Frye of Hesperia was sentenced Friday as part of a plea bargain.
The 41-year-old pleaded guilty to three felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He had faced 76 counts.
Frye was arrested in June 2010 after officers in unmarked vehicles saw him shooting at a Cadillac Escalade as he drove his Toyota Tundra.
California Highway Patrol investigators said Frye was responsible for shooting out dozens of car windows along interstates 10, 15, and 215 and state highways 60 and 91. No one was injured.
