Hemet Boy, 14, Gunned Down In Perris Identified

PERRIS (CBS) — A 14-year-old boy who was shot to death on a Perris street was identified Monday.

William Long III of Hemet was gunned down in front of a house in the 1700 block of Glenview Drive shortly after midnight Sunday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies were called to the location to investigate reports of shots fired and discovered Long on the sidewalk, said sheriff's Sgt. Todd Torrenti.

He said Long had been hit by at least one bullet.

Paramedics were called, but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene moments later.

No suspects were immediately identified.
