Hearing Scheduled For Sean 'Diddy' Combs' In Connection With June Arrest At UCLA
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A hearing has been scheduled for next month for Sean "Diddy" Combs in connection with a confrontation with his son's football coach at UCLA in June.
The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office confirmed to CBS Los Angeles that the hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 15 but was unable to immediately elaborate.
The case had been referred to the City Attorney's Office in July after the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office declined to file felony charges against the 45-year-old music mogul.
The celebrity website TMZ.com, citing sources familiar with the case, reports that Diddy is not expected to be charged in the case, although CBSLA was unable to independently confirm this at the time of publication.
According to TMZ, the hearing in October is expected to include Diddy, his attorney and others involved in the incident.
The confrontation in June happened on campus and prompted Combs' arrest at the Acosta Athletic Training Complex.
Combs had been accused of swinging a weight-room kettlebell at one of the interns who intervened. He was reportedly upset about a practice session involving his son.
Combs' son Justin Combs is a defensive back on the school's football team.
