Hawthorne Man Arrested In Rape Of Woman He Met Online
HAWTHORNE (CBSLA.com) — Police have arrested a 32-year-old man in connection to the rape of a woman he met through an online dating site.
Aaron Robinson was arrested late Wednesday afternoon without incident at his Hawthorne-area apartment, Lt. Scott Swain said.
He is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at his apartment on Nov. 4, according to police.
Prior to the rape, Robinson, who said his name was "Cardon," took his victim to a South Bay CVS to purchase alcohol where he was caught on surveillance.
Police were able to follow up on several leads and identified Robinson as the suspect on Wednesday.
"A search of his apartment was executed pursuant to a state search warrant where miscellaneous items of evidence were recovered," Scott said.
Robinson was booked at the Hawthorne Police Department on suspicion of sexual assault. He is being held on $100,000 bond.
He will be arraigned sometime Friday.
