Gusty winds, slight chance of rain in Southern California
The Los Angeles and Ventura counties are in for some gusty winds and a slight chance of rain on Monday.
The National Weather Service said gusty northerly winds will likely affect the region throughout the day. A wind advisory has been issued for parts of LA and Ventura County beaches, the Malibu coast and the Ventura County inland coast.
Northwest winds are expected to be between 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. The advisory will be in effect from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Weather officials warn that gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects and could cause tree limbs to fall. Power outages could occur, and people should be cautious of downed power lines.
There will also be a weak front rolling into the area. There's a slight chance of rain across Ventura County in the late morning to early afternoon. The NWS said there is a 30 to 40% chance of rain in LA County but expect the rain will be in the mountains and the San Gabriel Valley.
KCAL News Meteorologist Paul Deanno said there are no new storms forecasted for at least seven to 10 days starting Tuesday.
The NWS said by the end of the week, a warming trend is expected to develop, and temperatures will go up.
