Gunman Suspected In Deadly Hollywood Hills Shooting Reportedly Killed In Stand-Off With Police

ROSEMEAD (CBSLA.com) — A gunman suspected of fatally shooting a 27-year-old man in the Hollywood Hills has appeared to have died following a stand-off with police in Rosemead, authorities said Wednesday.

According to Lt. Larry Dietz, personnel with the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office have responded to the 3500 block of Strang Avenue where an officer-involved shooting took place.

Police would not immediately report on the suspect's condition.

According to officials, the six-hour standoff began around 10 p.m. on Tuesday when officers attempted to serve arrest and search warrants at the home in Rosemead.

Neighboring homes were evacuated and SWAT teams were called to assist at the scene after the suspect barricaded himself inside of the home.

Police said the suspect was wanted in connection with the shooting death of Henry Estrada, which took place in the 2000 block of Sycamore Avenue on Sunday.
