Group of thieves riding bikes hit multiple 7-Eleven stores in Hollywood

A group of thieves riding bikes ransacked three different 7-Eleven stores in the Hollywood area on Friday, all within a small 30-minute window.

The first store, located at 770 Highland Avenue, happened at around 8 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. While there was no reported physical damage to the location, witnesses say that the group took off with anything they could grab before taking off on their bikes. 

Shortly after, a second location, near La Brea Avenue and Sunset Boulevard was hit. 

They say that a group of males riding bikes, appearing to be in their late teens or early 20s, targeted the store, breaking a window before taking off towards Wilton Place.

Just about 20 minutes later, another 7-Eleven store was targeted, this time in the 5700 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, police said. 

In this instance the group of bike riders entered the store, shattering a front window and taking off with an undisclosed amount of product, LAPD said. 

"All of the sudden I saw, I don't know, 40 bikes maybe a little more full of what looked like teenagers," said one woman. "It's frustrating, because it keeps happening."

While they haven't connected the incidents, police say that the thefts all occurred within a very close proximity.
