Griffin To Miss OKC Charity Game Due To Cut On Foot

Blake Griffin will miss this Sunday's charity game in Oklahoma City because of a cut on his right foot that "required a couple stitches," according to ESPN.com.

Griffin cut his foot while in the ocean, apparently.

The injury is not really serious, but just something that will prevent Griffin from playing, according to the report.

Major bummer for a lot of reasons, but it's a blow to the game that was billed as "The Battle for Mr. Oklahoma" as a head-to-head between Kevin Durant and Griffin.

Not that the game doesn't still have a solid cast (LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Amar'e Stoudemire, John Wall, Rudy Gay, Jeff Green), but Griffin was one of the two headliners. I would imagine he'll still attend, just not play.

Griffin of course is from Oklahoma City and was co-headlining the event with Durant to support local charities. The game is being held at the Cox Convention Center, which seats about 14,000. As of Wednesday, roughly only 3,000 tickets remained for the event. The game will also be televised in Oklahoma.
