LAPD Releases Footage Of Hit-And-Run Near Exposition Park
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Monday asked for the public's help in identifying and locating a couple accused of intentionally running over a man with their vehicle back in August.
Hoping for leads, the Los Angeles Police Department released the graphic footage of the crime on their Facebook page.
Police said the incident on Aug. 1, occurred near Exposition Park in the parking lot of Jerry's Liquor Store in the 4200 block of S. Vermont Avenue about 8:55 p.m.
The vehicle that appears in the footage was described by authorities as a white Ford Explorer.
In the footage, the couple appears to allegedly aim their vehicle at the man and accelerate.
After the victim is struck, the driver allegedly backs up over the man and drags him across a portion of the parking lot, according to the footage.
The suspects are reportedly seen in another clip prior to the attack walking through the liquor store, CBS2's Suzie Suh reported.
They were described by police as a man and a woman in their late 20s to early 30s.
The first suspect was described as a Latino with black hair. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds.
The second suspect was a Latina with blonde hair. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.
Police suspect that the man was behind-the-wheel of the SUV.
The victim survived his injuries, authorities said.
