Grandmother, 49, Killed In 2-Car Accident In Bellflower
BELLFLOWER (CBS) — A 49-year-old grandmother was killed in a 2-car collision in Bellflower Friday.
The woman may not have been wearing a seat belt and was ejected from her sport utility vehicle. She died at the scene.
The woman's 20-year-old daughter was injured and taken to a hospital, while her 18-month-old granddaughter escaped injury, but was taken to a hospital as a precaution, according to authorities.
A man in his 40s who was driving a Corvette was also injured.
Officials said speed might have been a factor in the crash.
The crash occurred around 7 p.m. on Alondra Boulevard, just east of Woodruff Avenue, said Sgt. Joe Reveles of the sheriff's Lakewood Station.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
