Government To Release Findings Of Toyota Investigation
WASHINGTON (AP) — The government on Tuesday plans to release the findings of its investigation into reports of sudden acceleration in Toyota vehicles.
The Transportation Department and NASA have been studying the safety issues that led Toyota to recall more than 11 million vehicles since the fall of 2009.
So far, the government has not uncovered any electronic problems in the vehicles. Toyota has said any safety problems have already been addressed by the recalls.
Transportation officials and engineers with NASA have been studying the issue for 10 months. Last August, the Transportation Department said it has not found any electronic issues in Toyotas based on research into event data recorders, or vehicle black boxes.
