Goodell On Stadium Proposals In St. Louis, Oakland, & San Diego: 'Unsatisfactory & Inadequate'
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — In a report written by the NFL issued to all 32 teams, commissioner Roger Goodell called the proposed NFL stadium solutions in Oakland, St. Louis, and San Diego "unsatisfactory and inadequate."
The Los Angeles Times reported that the full contents of the 48-page report were not authorized to be disclosed publicly yet.
The report does state and establish that the three home markets in question, St. Louis, San Diego, and Oakland, have all failed to provide viable stadium solutions to keep the teams in their respective cities.
Goodell also said each team had "ample opportunity to demonstrate a successful solution, but none developed their proposals to ensure the retention of their teams."
All three teams filed relocation applications to the league last Monday, the first day that teams were eligible to do so.
The report also states that neither of the three teams would be breaking its lease by moving from its current market, and also that L.A. is very capable of supporting and hosting two teams.
