Good Samaritan Captures Aftermath On Video Of Robbery In Target Parking Lot

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A trip to a San Bernardino Target store turned into a nightmare when a woman was attacked and robbed in the parking lot.

The incident happened in the parking lot of the store located off Orange Show Road and a good Samaritan captured the aftermath on his cellphone.

"Are you OK, ma'am? Are you OK? Did he get your pocketbook, right?" asked the man, whose voice is heard on video.

The woman, who had just been beaten and robbed, replied "No."

The good Samaritan said he tried to record the aftermath on his camcorder.

"I observed three girls out in the car assaulting this lady," he said.

The man said the woman was loading her groceries and other items into her car when she was attacked. He believes the victim was chosen at random.

"It was really sad because Target was busy. Extremely busy and no one came to this lady's aid," he said.

He said the assault was vicious.

"Literally, pulling the chains off her neck and grabbing her purse and she was screaming for help," he said.

The man kept recording as he chased the suspects out of the parking lot hoping the video could ultimately be used by police. He said there were a total of four people involved.

"She fought. She fought for her life," he said.

CBS2/KCAL9 spoke briefly by phone with the victim, who is recovering.

The suspects remain on the loose.
