Girls Rescued During Sex Trafficking Sting In Riverside, San Bernardino Counties
RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Two young girls were rescued and 15 people were arrested during a sex trafficking sting in Riverside and San Bernardino counties last week, the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced Tuesday.
The operation was conducted Jan. 24 and 25 in Riverside, Hemet and Ontario.
Authorities said one of the victims was rescued in Riverside County and the other girl was saved in San Bernardino County.
In addition, more than a dozen people were arrested for pandering, pimping, prostitution and human trafficking, according to Bill Lewis, assistant director of the FBI's Los Angeles office.
The FBI said the suspects' cases will be handed over to the district attorney's offices in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
The sting was organized by the Inland Empire Child Exploitation and Prostitution Task Force, which includes numerous police departments, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and the FBI.
The Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force was also involved.
