Girl, 14, Assaulted In Saugus Park

SANTA CLARITA (AP) - Authorities are asking the public for help in finding a suspect who tried to sexually assault a 14-year-old girl at a park near Santa Clarita.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesperson Michael Parker says the attack happened Saturday at Central Park in Saugus.

The teen tells investigators she was walking to meet friends when a man grabbed her and pushed her up against the tree, trying to kiss her.

The girl says she then heard someone approaching, and the man suddenly let her go and ran off.

The suspect was described as a Latino male, between 5-foot-5 inches and 5-foot-8 inches tall, and wearing all black and a black beanie.

Sheriff's officials are asking anyone who may have seen the suspect to contact authorities at (661) 255-1121.
