Gas Station Burglar Caught On Camera With His Pants Down

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police asked for the public's help Tuesday in identifying a burglary suspect who was caught on surveillance video with his pants down.

Police say the burglar climbed onto the roof of a gas station in the 1400 block of La Cienega Boulevard at about 2 a.m. on March 11 and got inside through an unlocked roof entrance.

The video shows the burglar crawling past an open door, where a gas station clerk was working, then searching a rear office before filling a trash bag full of cigarette cartons and fleeing through the roof. At one point, the burglar's pants sag down, exposing his backside, as he opens a trash bag to fill it with cigarette cartons.

The value of the stolen cigarettes was not disclosed.

The burglar was described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old, weighing between 180 and 210 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and black shoes.

Anyone with information about the burglar's identity or the crime can call Wilshire Area Detective Lavender at (213) 922-8252.
