Gas Prices Pass $4 A Gallon Mark, First Time Since Aug. 6
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Gas prices are on the rise again, surpassing the $4 mark for the first time since Aug. 6, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gas in Los Angeles County was $4.012 Friday.
Over the past 15 days, gas prices in LA County have risen 17.6 cents, the AAA said.
In Orange County, the average price for a gallon of regular is just below $4 at $3.995.
The spike in gas prices can be attributed to state refinery outages, according to the AAA.
Three Northern California refineries and one in SoCal have reported outages in the past week.
