Gas Prices May Boost LAX Traffic For Memorial Day Getaway
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — More travelers will be taking to the skies this Memorial Day weekend as high gas prices continue to weigh down wallets in the Southland.
KNX 1070's John Brooks reports total travel volume is likley to be unchanged from 2010, but fewer people are getting there by car and more are flying.

Air travel is estimated to jump as much as 5.5 percent over a year ago at LAX, while car trips should dip by slightly less than half of 1 percent, primarily due to gas prices lingering above $4 a gallon.
And if one survey is correct, the majority travelers could be hoping to turn the cash they saved on gas into a windfall in Sin City.
According to the Auto Club, the top three destinations by plane or car for this weekend are Las Vegas, San Diego
and San Francisco.
